Indian intelligence agency named Intelligence Bureau (IB) has reportedly raised alarm with India’s Ministry of Home affairs about a spurt in the production of Punjabi films on stories related to ‘Ghallughara 1984’ and the aftermath.

The movie was reportedly watched by thousands of people with in few hours of uploading. Now, a pirated version of the movie is available for download on torrent sites.

New Delhi, India (August 23, 2014): Much awaited Punjabi movie “Kaum De Heere” was again banned by Indian government on August 21, just a day before it's released in India. The movie was previously banned by Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) on January 29, 2014. The initial date of release of the movie was February 28. But after the Indian authorities decided against the movie, it was released outside India on March 14.

India's Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has expressed reservation and alleged serious concern over the contents of a Punjabi film which is based on life and sacrifice of Sikh martyrs - Shaheed Beant Singh, Shaheed Kehar Singh and Shaheed Satwant Singh.

As per information available with the Sikh Siyasat News (SSN), Punjabi lyricist-cum-singer Raj Kakra’s début Punjabi movie “Kaum De Heere” will be released across India on August 22. The movie was banned by Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) in India on February 28, 2014. But now the ban has been lifted.
