Finally Sheela Dikshit also quits; Resigns as governor of Kerala

New Delhi, India (August 26, 2014): As was expected, Sheila Dikshit governor of the Kerala has resigned. There were reports that should could be trasferred to Mizoram. She is the second governor who has preffered to resign insteat of being got trasferred to Mizoram. Two days back Maharashtra governor Kateekal Sankaranarayanan had resigned after he was reportedly trasferred to Mizoram.

Chandigarh/ Punjab (August 26, 2014): Controversial godman and head of Divya Jyoti Jagran Sansthan or the Noormehal dera, Ashutosh died on January 28, 2014 but his sect has been keeping his body in freezer claiming that he was alive and had just taken a Samadhi (meditation mode). The issue took another turn yesterday when a judge of Punjab and Haryana High Court questioned the Punjab government on its silence over the issue.

Amritsar, Punjab (August 26, 2014): According to Daljit Singh Bedi, additional secretary of Shiromani Gurdwara Prabhandak Committee (SGPC), SGPC president Avtar Singh Makkar has condemned the ban imposed on release of Punjabi movie Kaum De Heere.

Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara appeals for show of unity on Shaheed Dilawar Singh’s martyrdom day

Amritsar, Punjab (August 26, 2014): It is learnt that the martyrdom day of Shaheed Dilawar Singh will be observed at Akal Takht Sahib on 31 August. Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara, who is currently confined in Delhi based Tihar Jail, has issued an appeal to all Sikh organization to show unity on Shaeed Dilawar Singh's martyrdom day.

HC notice to Punjab govt. on premature release of police-cat Gurmeet Pinky; Next hearing on Nov. 04

Chandigarh/ Ludhiana (August 26, 2014): According to information available with the Sikh Siyasat News (SSN), the Punjab and Haryana High Court has taken up the petition of Ludhiana resident S. Amrik Singh against discrepancies in implementation of premature release policy and extending undue benefits to police-black cat turned cop Gurmeet Pinky. The High Court has fixed 4 November as next date of hearing in this matter.

Haryana Committee issue: Hearing adjourned till October 25 after notice to HSGMC

New Delhi, India (August 26, 2014): Hearing the plea against formation of separate Gurdwara committee for Harayna the Supreme Court of India (SCI) yesterday (on August 25) accepted the application of Shiromani Gurdwara Prabhandak Committee (SGPC) to make it a party to the hearing.

BJP’s “mission Governors” continues: Speculations over Shiela Dexit’s resignation ahead of 4 expected appointments

New Delhi, India (August 26, 2014): Narendra Modi led BJP government is set to go ahead with it's "mission governors", aimed at appointing it's "own" constitutional heads in states. BJP that recently appoined 6 governors in different states is all set to name four more new governors. Meanwhile there are speculation that former Delhi CM and Kerala’s governor Sheila Dikshit may resign from the post.
