On June 3, 2026, the Punjabi Department of Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University in Fatehgarh Sahib hosted a seminar titled “Policy Implications of June 1984.” The event brought together academicians, scholars, researchers, and students. During the seminar, Sikh Siyasat Chief Editor Parmjeet Singh Gazi presented his paper, “42 Years of Ghallughara: India’s Digital Repression and the Sikhs.” His presentation thoroughly analyzes India’s digital repression policies, detailing how access to information is blocked and how the narratives surrounding the June 1984 Ghallughara and the November 1984 Sikh genocide are controlled.
