Condemning suicide bombings on a church, Dal Khalsa urges Pak govt to punish perpetrators

Amritsar, Punjab (September 24, 2013): The Dal Khalsa, led by Harchranjit Singh Dhami, has condemned the twin suicide bombings on a church in Pakistan, saying those behind the killings were enemies of humanity and should be chased, arrested and punished in a harshest possible way.

United Sikhs salutes NDP Leader for standing behind the turban

Quebec, Canada (September 24, 2013): “Sikhs have fought in both World Wars while wearing their turbans. 200,000 Sikhs soldiers sacrificed their lives, 90,000 died and 100,000 were injured. They fought side by side with other soldiers, while wearing their turbans,” said New Democratic Party Leader (NDP) Thomas Mulcair. NDP Leader Mulcair promised to fight against institutionalized discrimination in honour of Sikh Veterans.

Washington Sikhs support Global Environmental Agenda of EcoSikh

Washington, (September 19, 2013): According to a press statement by EcoSikh around 300 people gathered for the EcoSikh's Gala Event to support the environmental efforts by this four year old organization. Sikh representatives from various gurdwaras and youth from all across the Washington area and as far as Virginia and Baltimore came to participate. According to the organizers, this was the largest gathering of the community supporting global environmental agenda.
