London (June 08, 2014): Protesting against the attack by Indian Army at Akal Takhat, Darbra Sahib complex and various other Sikh gurdwaras in June 1984, the UK Sikh diaspora held a march in central London. The march from Hyde Park to Trafalgar Square involved sloganeering and chanting.
Indian Army’s attack on Darbar Sahib in which thousands of innocent Sikhs were massacred is remembered the beginning of the 3rd major Ghallughara (holocaust) of the Sikh history.
A freedom rally was held at Traflagar Square where the Sikh leaders addressed a huge gathering.
The British Sikhs have also been angered by recent revelations in de-classified documents published by the UK government in January, which showed that a British SAS officer was recruited to help plan the operation.
