he Punjab Police on Sunday (7 December 2025) registered an FIR against 16 persons, including the then Chief Secretary of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) and the former Secretary of its Dharam Parchar Committee (DPC), in connection with the case of 328 missing saroops of Sri Guru Granth Sahib.

The SGPC on November 5 failed to submit its reply in the Punjab and Haryana High Court on a petition challenging new chief secretary's appointment. It sought more time from the High Court to file the reply to a petition Hence, the case has been adjourned till January 8.
