Indian Supreme Court Refuses to Stay Controversial CAA; Gives 4 Weeks to GoI to Respond

The Supreme Court of India today (Jan 22) refused to stay the controversial Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA). The court said that it won't stay CAA without hearing the Government of India (GoI)'s response. The court also hinted that it would set up a five-judge Constitution bench to hear the matter.
