In a message addressed to the Sikh Panth the Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh has told the Sikh community to mark August 14 as "Ardas Divas" and offer prayer for easy access to Sikh Gurdwara that became part of Pakistan following partition in 1947.
The Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (PSGPC) and the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) have decided to hand over the “kar sewa” of historic Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib to the Shiromani Gurdwara Prabhandak Committee (SGPC).
