Panthic conference resolve to strengthen Bapu Surat Singh’s struggle; Sikh Jathas to court arrests from May 15

Sikh organisations today organised an impressive Panthic conference at village Hassanpur (near Ludahiana) to show their support for fasting Sikh activist Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa. Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa is on hunger strike since January 16 demanding permanent release of Sikh political prisoners, who remain jailed in India even after serving minimum mandatory terms of their sentences.

Police crackdown on Kartarpur Sikh youth; 3 arrested in road block case

The Kartarpur police reportedly arrested three Sikh youth on May 08 in relation to a road block case. Trio, identified as Tejinder Singh, Navjot Singh and Ranjit Singh, were arrested by the Kartarpur police in relation to a case registered against around 150 ‘unidentified persons’ few weeks back.

Faridkot police let transporters’ goons torture students in lock-up, alleges Bains brothers

MLAs Simarjit Bains and Balwinder Bains have alleged that the Faridkot police let the goons sent by a Badal Dal transporter to torture students in lock-up on May 6. The students, who are in police custody, were booked on charges of attempt to murder after they clashed with private bus operators on May 6.

Sikh sangat is large numbers today arrived at village Hassanpur (near Ludhaina) to attend the Panthic conference and show support to Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa. Bapu Surat Singh Khasla is on hunger strike since January 16 demanding release of Sikh political prisoners who remain jailed in India even after having completed minimum mandatory terms of their sentences.

Beating Incident: Satkar Committee leaders Sukhjit Singh Khosa and Gurmeet Singh Sodhi sent to jail

Arrested leaders of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Satkar Committee were reportedly sen to Kapurthala jail after their police remand expired two days back. Bhai Sukhjit Singh Khosa and Gurmeet Singh Sodhi were presented in the court of Kapurthala's Judicial Magistrate Indu Bala by police of Talwandi Chaudhrian police station. The court sent duo to Kapurthala jail on judicial custody till 23rd May.

Sikh Youth Front has expressed deep grief over demise of Bapu Tarlok Singh (father of Shaheed Bhai Satwant Singh). In a written statement SYF General Secretary S. Papalpreet Singh ssaid that the intrepid stand of Bapu Tarlok Singh in favor of punishing Indra Gandhi will always remain fresh in Sikh Psyche.
