Parties eyeing Sikh votes mum on Hondh Chillar massacre issue

Jalandhar, Punjab: As SAD(B)-INLD and Congress are trying to woo Sikhs of Haryana by raking up formation of Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (HSGMC) to garner votes, the issue of justice to the victims of the Hondh Chillar village massacre in Rewari district where 32 members of the community were butchered has been completely forgotten.

India and Pakistan resumes exchange of gun-fires at LoC Kashmir

Jammu: India and Pakistan have again resumed firing along Line Of Control in Kammu and Kashmir's Poonch district. The exchange of firing reportedly started on Saturday (Oct. 11) afternoon. There was calm over LoC for last 36 hours as gun-fires were last reported on Thursday.

Baba Daduwal’s kin moves heabus corpus in High Court; Notice to state over re-arrest

Faridkot, Punjab: A day after the police took Sikh preacher Baba Baljit Singh Daduwal into preventive custody after his release from Faridkot Jail, the Punjab and Haryana High Court issued a notice to the state government on heabus corpus moved by Baba Daduwal's father in law. Daduwal was to be released from the Faridkot Central Jail as he had secured bail from the High Court. But immediately after his release on October 09, the police took him into preventive custody claiming that “he was an imminent threat to peace”.

Uttarakhand India: The portals of Gurdwara Hemkund Sahib have been closed for winter-break. Just before the doors were closed thousands of Sikh yatris braved chilly conditions to converge at Gurdwara Hemkund Sahib in Garhwal Himalayas on Friday, Oct 10.
