Dal Khalsa writes to visiting British PM; Raises issues concerning the Sikh nation

Amritsar/ New Delhi (November 14, 2013): UK Prime Minister David Cameron is on three day visit to India. In wake of his visit Sikh organization, Dal Khalsa, has written a letter to the British PM. The Sikh body has raised various issues concerning the Sikhs with the visiting PM. A copy of the letter has been sent to the Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) by Kanwarpal Singh, political secretary of Dal Khalsa.

Haryana eying on more water from Punjab rivers – Want 10K cusecs from 2nd Ravi-Beas Link Project

Chandigarh/ Punjab (November 14, 2013): As per certain media reports Haryana has once against raised the issue of river waters with the Government of India seeking more water from the Punjab’s rivers. According to Hindustan Times: Haryana has sought about 10,000 cusecs of water from the Second Ravi-Beas Link Project, which was declared a project of ‘national’ importance by the Government of India in 2008.

Cause of concern: Pollution adversely affecting Darbar Sahib structure

Amritsar/ Chandigarh (November 14, 2013): It is learnt that the experts from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) have submitted a report to the Punjab and Haryana High Court in which it has been stated that pollution caused by industries, generator sets, 'tandoors' (clay ovens) of restaurants around the Darbar Sahib (Amritsar) and burning of crop stubble by the farmers is adversely affecting the structure and structural glory of Darbar Sahib (Amritsar).

Badal equates his regime with Maharaja Ranjit Singh’s rule; Says offices to Hindus & Muslims as per Sikh Raj’s policies

Sangrur, Punjab (November 14, 2013): It is learnt that Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal has compared his governance with the rule of Maharaja Ranjit Singh. He reportedly said that Punjab government is following the footprints of Maharaja Ranjit Singh, the founder of the Sikh empire.
