Opponents of Cerritos Gandhi statue plan Saturday demonstration at City Hall

Cerritos, CA, (September 12, 2013): Believing the City of Cerritos has turned a deaf ear to a public concern, a group working since July to organize local residents opposed to a controversy-beset Gandhi statue now plans to demonstrate for its removal outside City Hall this coming Saturday.

Former Minister blames CRPF pelted stones on Sikh houses in Shopian

Kashmir/Srinagar (September 12, 2013): According to a news reported by a Kashmir based journalist Mir Iqbal: "[f]ormer Minister, Ghulam Hassan Khan (on September 12, 2013), accused CRPF forces for pelting stones on Sikh houses in violence-torn Shopian town with an attempt to give a new twist to the protests over the killings of five civilians in Shopian".

Haryana extends land leases of ‘migrant’ Sikh farmers

Chandigarh/ Haryana (September 12, 2013): According to certain media reports the Haryana government on Wednesday (September 11, 2013) announced extension of lease of agricultural land to about 3500 Sikh 'migrant' families, allotted to them in 1953, in a bid to win the confidence of Sikh community in the state.
