London, United Kingdom (August 26, 2013): In a written statement sent to the Sikh Siyasat News (SSN): [t]he Sikh Federation (UK) has said it will join others to oppose the visit to the UK of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi one of the most controversial pro-Hindu politicians who has shown through his actions his animosity and hatred towards minorities in India, including Sikhs, Christians and Muslims.

India to issue stamp on former Punjab CM Beant Singh; Decision expected to invoke sharp reaction from the Sikh nation

New Delhi/ Amritsar, India/ Punjab (August 26, 2013): It is learnt that the Indian government has decided to release a Postal Stamp carrying photo of former Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh. As per information Indian Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh will release this stamp in the first week of September in Delhi.

Person who hijacked plane (in 1982) with cloth ball to prove Sikh leader’s words passed away

Bathinda, Punjab (August 25, 2013): It is learnt that Bhai Gurbax Singh Hijacker passed away at Adesh Hospital near Bathinda, Punjab. He was a resident of Village Pakka Kalan and had hijacked an Air India flight going to Amritsar from New Delhi in 1982. He had Hijacked the plane without any arms/ammunition or explosives.
