New Delhi/Ludhiana, India/Punjab (November 13, 2012): According to media reports the Supreme Court of India (SCI) has entertained the petition, that may be called “the Sikh identity” petition as it seeks judicial intervention against clubbing of Sikh identity with Hindus through provisions of Indian Constitution and definition of Hindu in Hindu Personal Law code.

Son of Sardar released – but a local court in Punjab may still summon Ajay Devgn Nov. 19

Chandigarh, Punjab (November 13, 2012): Ajay Devgn's Hindi film “Son of Sardar” would hit cinemas across India today. The Bollywood's latest masala-action-comedy had invited controversy as various Sikh circles had objected to certain scenes and dialogues released in a promo of the movie. Promo was officially released on YouTube.

Badal Dal activists staged protest against Delhi CM for halting the naming of 1984 victims memorial park

New Delhi, India (November 10, 2012): It is learnt that Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) activists staged a demonstration outside the residence of Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshi on November 10, 2102. The activists reportedly protested against the decision of Delhi Government to stall the naming of a park as that was to be named as memorial for the vicitms of November 1984 violence against Sikhs.
