‘Third degree torture’ in Police custody: High Court notice to Patiala SSP & other police officers

Chandigarh/Punjab (October 10, 2012): According to media reports the Punjab and Haryana High Court has recently issued notices to the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Patiala and other police officers, including Davinder Singh, Deputy Superintendent of Police; Karnail Singh, Station House Officer, and Gurmeet Singh, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI), Police Station, Ghanaur, Patiala for allegedly giving electric shocks on private parts of a 40-year-old and use of third degree torture in police custody.

Attack on Kuldip Brar was drama staged by Indian Intelligence Agencies: Dal Khalsa UK

London/Punjab (October 07, 2012): Dal Khalsa UK has raised finger towards Indian intelligence agencies in relation to attack on former Lt. Gen. of Indian Army Kuldip Brar. Kuldip Brar had led attack on Sikh shrines, including the Darbar Sahib (Golden Temple of Amritsar), in June 1984. The attack has resulted in massive causalities as the attack was conducted on a specific day when there was huge gatherings in Sikh shrines.

US Sikh diaspora condemn arrest and detention of Sikh leaders in Punjab

Philadelphia/USA (October 07, 2012) A conference was held at Upper Darby Gurdwara in Philadelphia, to discuss the human rights situation in Punjab vis-à-vis arrests of Akali Dal Panch Pardhani leaders and charging of the 5 Dal Khalsa men under sedition law by Delhi court in the 31 year old case. The event was organized by US chapter of Dal Khalsa with the support of Philadelphia Sikh Society.
