Sun rays to supply electricity to Sikh Gurudwara in Leicester; solar power project installed

Leicester/Ludhiana (August 04, 2012): A Sikh Gurudwara in Leicester, England is harnessing the sun's rays to supply its electricity. As per a news report published by Leicester Mercury, Guru Tegh Bahadur Gurdwara, in Evington, has installed 400 solar panels on its roof in what leaders believe is a first for any Gurudwara in England.

BBC Asian Network Radio Jockey Interview Leaves Jay Hind Staff Speechless

Ludhiana (August 04, 2012): On August 02, 2012 BBC Asian Network host Nihal Arthanayake, a non-Sikh, interviewed the Jay Hind staff including the host Sumeet Raghvan. Fauja Singh’s personal trainer Harminder Singh was also on the show when the Jay Hind team was left speechless. The Jay Hind team was unable to respond to questions such as why they showed Fauja Singh wiping his face with his beard and how they could talk about the genocide of Sikhs in a humorous way.

Badals to visit UK, USA & Canada; S. Mann issues red-alert for Sikh diaspora

Fatehgarh Sahib (August 4, 2012): As per information shared by "Sikh24.com" news it is learned that Sukhbir Badal, the Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab, will be visiting UK for two days starting August 6th. He is scheduled to tour Canada and USA from August 8th onwards. The special visit by Sukhbir Badal has been organized for him to take part in the wedding of a relative of Surjit Rakhra to take place in the US. It has been learned that Parkash Badal will also be traveling to the United States to take part in the wedding ceremonies.

Sajjan Kumar’s trial: Delhi High court reverts trial court’s decision on victim’s testimonies before commission

New Delhi (August 03, 2012): The Delhi High court today accepted Congress leader, and accused of 1984 massacre of Sikhs in Delhi, Sajjan Kumar's plea to let him use the statements of a 1984 genocidal violence victim, that were made to judicial commissions, to defend himself.
