The Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009 mandates that 25% of seats in private schools be reserved for students from economically disadvantaged households. However, this law is not being implemented unconditionally in Punjab.
S. Kirpal Singh has been actively advocating for the unconditional enforcement of this law in Punjab for over a decade. At his request, journalist Mandeep Singh conducted an exclusive interview with him to discuss the Act, its key provisions, and the consequences of its conditional implementation in the state.
This matter is being highlighted in the public interest of the people of Punjab.
