Chandigarh: In a written statement issued on May 22, the Aam Aadmi Party alleged that some people were engaged in anti-AAP propaganda through spreading of ‘fake news’ on social media.
Spokesman of the AAP, Sukhpal Khaira said that as the ‘grand alliance’ of SAD-BJP-Congress was adopting ‘cheap tactics’ of engineering false anti-AAP propaganda on the social media by spreading ‘hollow and fake news’.
Condemning such a propaganda, Sukhpal Khaira claimed that such an act shows how much frustrated these parties are, as they resorted to commit same mistakes, which they did in Delhi, which resulted in humiliating defeat of both BJP and Congress.
“People are fed up with the traditional politics of negativity and they don’t want to be made fool again and again”, Khaira said while warning these parties to resist from such activities of false propaganda.
He said that such fake news are designed in such a way that they look like clippings from some newspaper..
Even some ‘unclaimed’ posters’ were pasted on the walls in some districts, which aimed to create confusion on the policies of secularism of AAP and disturb the hard earned peace and communal harmony of the state, Sukhpal Khaira alleged.
Recent example of such propaganda is that on the social media news regarding the alleged friction between him and State Convenor Sucha Singh Chhotepur was spread, which was not having even an iota of truth, Khaira said.
