Sikh body flays harassment of Kashmiri students’ in Greater Nodia

Srinagar, Kashmir (May 10, 2014): A Sikh organisation has flayed the Indian government over the assault on Kashmiri students at a private university at Greater Noida in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.

Three Kashmir students were beaten in their hostel and were forced to shout pro-India and anti-Pakistan slogans by a group of Indian students.

The Dal Khalsa chief, Harchranjit Singh Dhami, in a statement issued in Srinagar said that earlier too reign of terror on Kashmir students had been unleashed in UP.

He said, “Majoritarian extremism is on the rise in the country with BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi as its face.”

Holding Narendra Modi responsible for the massacre of Muslims and barbaric victimization of Sikh farmers in Gujarat, Harcharnjit Singh Dhami said: “Modi’s candidature is in total contrast to India’s claim of being a democratic and a secular country.”

He called upon the freedom-loving people including Kashmiri, to join hands against the rise of majority extremism.
