Patiala: Shots were reportedly fired at the vehicle of Sikh activist Baba Bakhshish Singh on Saturday, December 29.
Bakhshish Singh told Sikh Siyasat News over the phone that on the evening of December 29, he was returning to Patiala from his native village after visiting his ailing mother. He noticed that some suspicious vehicles were following him. As he was on the Patiala bypass, a car blocked his way while two other cars trailed behind him. When he attempted to escape the scene, gunshots were fired at his vehicle. He said a bullet pierced through the back seat headrest and lodged into the front side seats headrest.

Baba Bakhshish Singh said managed to escape the attack. He confirmed that he was safe and a case had been filed regarding the incident.
A Sikh Activist Was Shot Dead in October:
It is noteworthy that another Sikh activist, Gurpreet Singh Hari Nau, was shot dead on October 9, 2024, in his native village. Police have named Canada-based gangster Arsh Dalla as the mastermind behind the assassination, and have also booked Khadoor Sahib MP Amritpal Singh in the conspiracy.
Several Sikh Activists Have Been Given Security:
Following the murder of Gurpreet Singh Hari Nau, several Sikh activists were provided security by the police. Waris Punjab De (WPD) founding member and close associate of the slain actor-turned-activist Deep Sidhu, Palwinder Singh Talwara, was given security months before the murder of Gurpreet Singh.
Other activists who were provided security after the incident include Baba Bakhshish Singh, Kavishar Pritpal Singh Bargari, WPD founding members Husandeep Singh and Jagdeep Singh Sarpanch. Police also advised Advocate Simranjit Singh to take security, but he requested that they first provide full details of the threat against him.
