FRANKFURT, GERMANY — The Shere Punjab Punjabi Sabha organized its annual event dedicated to the Sikh Raj (Sikh Empire) and the proud history of the Sikh community at the Gurdwara Sikh Center in Frankfurt, Germany. The event witnessed a massive gathering of the Sangat (congregation) who came together to honor their heritage with great devotion.
Spiritual Observances and Historical Tributes
The solemn occasion commenced with the Bhog of the Sri Akhand Path Sahib. Following the devotional completion, the Gurdwara Sahib’s Head Granthi, Bhai Sukhdev Singh, along with Bhai Inderjit Singh Sirsa, recited soulful Gurbani Kirtan that deeply moved the assembled gathering.

The congregation was subsequently connected to the glorious history of the Sikh Empire through energetic Dhadi Vaars (heroic ballads) performed by Dhadi Jatha Bhai Gurpartap Singh Padam. The Jatha elaborated on the governance of the Sikh Raj and its enduring significance in Sikh history. Alongside these historical reflections, the profound martyrdom of human rights activist Bhai Jaswant Singh Khalra was also remembered with deep reverence.

Honoring Martyr Families and Keynote Addresses
A pivotal highlight of the event was the special felicitation of families of martyrs who made the ultimate sacrifice for the Panthic struggle and the establishment of Khalsa Raj. The organizers paid deep respect to these families, acknowledging their monumental sacrifices for the cause of a sovereign state, Khalistan, and the Khalsa Raj.

Throughout the program, prominent Sikh figures addressed the congregation on various facets of history and community affairs. Bhai Gurmeet Singh Khuniyan and Bhai Jagtar Singh Mahal shared their thoughts on the proud legacy of the Sikh Empire, while Bhai Avtar Singh Babbar, Dal Khalsa leader Bhai Nirmal Singh Hanspal, and Bhai Lakhwinder Singh Malli discussed pressing community issues. Shiromani Akali Dal Amritsar (Germany) President Bhai Heera Singh Mattewal highlighted how Baba Banda Singh Bahadur struggled to establish the first sovereign Sikh state, and a special message from Baba Kirpal Singh, Head of the Baba Deep Singh Sanstha, was also shared with the Sangat.

Calls for Advocacy and Community Support
Addressing the gathering, Bhai Harmeet Singh Lehal stated that August 15 is observed not as an Independence Day, but as a “Black Day” for the community. He appealed to the attendees to participate in large numbers in a protest march scheduled to take place outside the Indian Consulate on August 15, 2026.
The stage management duties throughout the program were expertly conducted by Bhai Gurdial Singh Lali. Bhai Davinder Singh Ghaloti, who played an essential leadership role in ensuring the program’s success, extended his sincere gratitude to all attendees for their unified cooperation.
