Chandigarh/ Punjab (June 10, 2014): A tainted IAS officer Vikas Garg, former DC Patiala, who was suspended by the Punjab Government in a case of sale of Government land in Patiala, has been reinstated. According a report published by Babushahi, He has not been given any posting but asked to report to the Personnel Department.

The Government sources said that Garg’s suspension has been revoked after the review committee meeting headed by Chief Secretary examined his case of suspension, added Babushahi report.
The sources said that if an officer is suspended on account of holding him guilty in some case, the Government is supposed to take decision
against him within two years or his suspension stands revoked. It may be recalled that Garg was suspended in Year 2012 after he was indicted
in the inquiry reports by Divisional Commissioner S R Ladhar and Financial Commissioner Revenue N S Kang.
