Jalandhar, Punjab (August 19, 2014): According to Jalandhar police Sikhs who were arrested on August 4 from Jammu “revealed” during police interrogation that their group had received funds from United Kingdom, Malaysia and Spain for completion of their so-called plans to strike Jalandhar and Anandpur Sahib.
Media reports have quoted undisclosed “Police sources” as saying: “apart from holding many meetings at various places in Gurdaspur and Jalandhar, the hometown of KLF chief Harminder Singh Mintu, the group had also met many times in Pathankot district which falls near the border of Jammu and Kashmir” (HT).
It is yet to be seen that how much of these police claims would form part of chargesheet. It turning to be a general practise of Punjab police to make huge claims in media after making arrests, but many of the claims are dropped at the time of filing chargesheet.
