Moga/Jalandhar (June 02, 2014): The trouble did not end with just resigning from the post of Punjab Jail Minister for Akali Dal Badal leader Sarwan Singh Phillaur as sleuths of Enforcement Directorate pasted copy of summon notice at the gate of his residence on Monday evening. The fresh trouble for the ex-minister is from the part of his son Damanvir Singh for his alleged involvement in multi-crore international drug racket.

As per media reports, drug racket kingpin and dismissed Punjab police DSP Jagdish Bhola had reportedly named Damanvir Singh in his written statement before the Enforecement Directorate.

The ED men pasted the summons outside the kothi of the minister. Finally, the ED has succeeded in ‘serving’ summons on Damanvir Singh to ensure his presence in the office of ED and join investigations in the case in which his name has emerged.No one from the family was present in the house Monday evening when his house number 1063 in the posh Urban Estate Phase-2 was raided.

The YesPunjab news portal, run by senior journalist HS Bawa, reported that Niranjan Singh, Assistant Director had summoned Damanvir on 13th of June at 10.30 am to join investigation in his office.

Damanvir has been asked to be present in the office with his passport. He has also been asked to bring details of all immoveable properties in his name and in the name of his family members, copies of Income Tax Returns for the last 5 years and details of Bank Accounts in his name and in the name of his family members.

Sarwan Singh Phillaur, a cabinet minister in Parkash Singh Badal led SAD-BJP government had resigned on ‘moral grounds’ to save the image of the party and the government after the name of his son Damanvir Singh cropped up in the drug racket.
