Canada’s federal elections are scheduled for April 28. During the final phase of the current Liberal Party-led government, foreign interference—particularly by India—and the Indian government’s transnational repression of the Sikh diaspora in Canada emerged as major concerns. The Government of Canada has accused agents of the Indian government, including India’s intelligence agency Research and Analysis Wing (R&AW), of involvement in targeted killings and alleged widespread violent and criminal activities on Canadian soil.
