Ludhiana, Punjab (September 09, 2014): Bikram, a resident of Dhanaula village has reportedly been granted bail by a local court along with two others namely Mahinderpal Singh of Dangarh village and Harvinder Singh of Kothe Gobindpur village.

Bikram was arrested on August 15 after had hurled a shoe at Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal during a function at Issru, near Khanna. Mahinderpal Singh and Harvinder Singh were later arrested by the police being part of shoe-hurling conspiracy.
Additional Sessions Judge SP Sood reportedly granted bail to all three persons accused by the police in this case.
The court observed that no useful purpose would be served by detaining the three as the trial would take a long time.
Bikram was detained under Sections 107 and 151 and sent to the Central jail, Ludhiana. A day later, he was booked under Sections 332, 353, 355 and 186 of the IPC.
He was sent to police remand for a day and thereafter to judicial custody. Earlier, his bail plea was declined by the court of the Khanna Judicial Magistrate.
