World Sikh Organisation Writes to Minister Garneau About Racism at Transport Canada

Following the release of a CBC News report entitled “Transport Canada investigates ‘racist’ song shared in no-fly list office 10 years after the fact”, the WSO has written to Transport Minister Marc Garneau expressing concern over the way the matter was handled.

In general election held in England yesterday (December 12), two Sikh MPs who were seeking re-election have registered success. Tanmanjit Singh Dhesi, who was elected as first Dastar wearing MP to the British Parliament in 2017 has won from his Slough constituency. Similarly, first Sikh women MP in British Parliament, Preet Kaur Gill has won from Birmingham Edgbaston.

Sikh Federation UK Announces to take Census case to Court of Appeal After HC Refuses Relief

A bid for Sikhs to be included as an ethnic group in the UK census has reportedly been rejected by a High Court judge. On Thursday (Dec. 12) morning Mrs Justice Lang DBE in her High Court judgement concluded the judicial review claim by the Sikh Federation (UK) on behalf of the Sikh community was too early.
