In just one week in September 2017, nearly 140 MPs from across the political spectrum signed a letter to John Pullinger, Chief Executive of the UK Statistics Authority, who is also responsible for the Office for National Statistics (ONS), calling for the inclusion of Sikh as an ethnic group, as well as a religion, on the 2021 census form.
