Police lathi charge journalists marching towards Bikram Majithia’s residence in Amritsar

The Amritsar police today lathi-charged journalists belonging to Chandigarh-Punjab Journalists Association (CPJA) when they were heading to Ghero the house of Punjab Information & Public Relations Minister Bikram Singh Majithia in Amritsar today.

Navjot Sidhu front to hold press conference in Chandigarh on Sept. 8

A newly formed political front led by cricketer, commentator, comedian and former BJP MP Navjot Sidhu has announced to hold a press conference in Chandigarh on Thursday (Sept. 08). Dal Khalsa today hailed the Supreme Court for clarifying that dissent isn't sedition, hence setting the record straight. However, the organization was skeptical whether the present day governments and the police force will follow and implement SC guidelines in letter and spirit.
