Sikh Genocide 1984: Court tells CBI to verify death of accused, Hearing deferred till July 17

A Delhi court on Monday directed CBI to verify the fact about the death of one of the accused who, along with Congress leader Sajjan Kumar, was facing trial in a November 1984 Sikh genocide related case.

Mansa student dies at Baru Sahib University under misterious circumsances; Suicide suspected

An M. Tech student reportedly died at Eternal University, Baru Sahib (Himachal Pradesh). Jagtar Singh, 27, hailed from Jalbeda village of Mansa in Punjab is suspected to have committed suicide, as his body was found in water-tank of the campus.

Around hundred activists of Shiv Sena had planned to disrespect Sikh martyrs by burning effigy of Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale at Mandi Gobindgarh. According to sources, Hindutva activists were “angry” over construction of June 1984 martyrs memorial build inside Darbar Sahib complex.
