A delegation joined Devinderdeep Kaur Sran on Wednesday to appeal to four U.S. congressional representatives to speak in honor of her father, Surat Singh Khalsa, a permanent resident of the United States who lives in California but has been on hunger-strike in Punjab, India since January 16 in demand for release of political prisoners.

It is learnt that Gurbaksh Singh Thaska Ali today visited Hasanpur (Ludhiana) to meet fasting Sikh activist Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa. As per reports Sikh sangat present at Bapu Surat Singh's house opposed his and accused him for betraying the cause of Sikh political prisoners.

The Fatehgarh Sahib police today prevented Sikh activists from marching towards Chandigarh based resident of Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal. The Sikh Jatha was arrested near village Attewali soon after it left Fatehgarh Sahib for Chandigarh.
