More Sikh Scholars withdraw from UCR Conference; Set agenda for discussion with Pashaura Singh

Following the withdrawal from Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University (SGGSWU) vice-chancellor, more Sikh scholars have withdrawn their names from the University of California, Riverside’s upcoming conference on “Living and Making Sikhi in the Diaspora: The Millennial Generation Comes of Age”.

High Court directs Badal govt. to submit “action taken report” on Moga Orbit Bus molestation case

A Punjab and Haryana High Court bench comprising Justices Hemant Gupta and Lisa Gill today issued notices to the Punjab government and the Orbit Aviation in Moga Orbit Bus molestation case. The court also directed the state government to submit a report on the action taken against the bus staff.

Facebook Page of US based human rights group “Sikhs for Justice” banned in India

In an apparent retaliation bid the government of India has reportedly banned the Facebook page of Sikhs for Justice. SJF Facebook page has more than 86K fans and the human rights group was using their page to post updates related to human rights abuses in Punjab and elsewhere in India.
