U.S. citizen Ravinderjit Singh Gogi remains indefinitely detained in India after spending two months behinds bars without seeing a judge, but just two days after seven U.S. Congressional representatives wrote to the State Department on his behalf, officials from the U.S. Embassy in New Delhi finally visited the American citizen imprisoned in Ludhiana, a major city in India’s Punjab state.

Makers of the controversial movie Nanak Shah Fakir have reportedly withdrawn their movie. Harinder Sikka, who arrogantly released his movie on April 17 ignoring all appeals and warnings to withdraw the movie, said that the the film was withdrawn for the time being after directions from Akal Takhat Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh.

Sikh bodies honor the US Attorney General Eric Holder with a Sewa (Service) Award

The Sikh community represented by the Guru Gobind Singh Foundation (GGSF) of Rockville, Maryland and National Sikh Center (NSC) of Washington, D.C. honored the Attorney General of the United States, Eric Holder, with a Siropa (a robe of honor) and a Sewa Service Award. Seven members of the Guru Gobind Singh Foundation were present during this ceremony at the headquarters of the Department of Justice in the nation’s capital.
