Manjit Singh GK, Manjinder Sirsa, 7 others convicted for protesting against Sajjan Kumar’s acquittal

A court of Metropolitan Magistrate of Delhi today convicted Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Prabhandak Committee (DSGMC) President Majit Singh GK and eight others for holding protests against acquittal of Sikh genocide accused Sajjan Kumar earlier this years.

Reforms to Federal Racial Profiling Guidance Continue to Negatively Impact Sikh Community: United Sikhs

United Sikhs has expressed deep disappointment over the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) revisions to the federal racial profiling guidance. A released by the Untied Sikhs says that the US based NGO is specifically concerned by the exemption allowing law enforcement agencies such as the Department of Homeland Security (DHS),Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to continue profiling our communities behind a veil of national security investigations.

The trauma of 1984 and the ‘movement’ of post-1984 period is being treated as a ‘formula’ by Punjabi filmmakers. Many films on 1984 and aftermath have arrived in last two years. The success of ‘Sadda Haq’ (2013) attracted attention of other Punjabi filmmakers and five films - 47 to 84, Kaum De Heere, Punjab 1984, Dilli 1984, Blood Street - have already been released. Others in line are Leather Life, Patta Patta Singha Da Wairi, Wanted Zinda, Jinda and Sukha - The Movie, Ankhi Yodhey.
