Mohali, Punjab (September 7, 2014): Khadur Sahib based Baba Uttam Singh National Hockey Academy won 13th All India ONGC SN Vohra Memorial Sub-Junior (U-14) Hockey Tournament here on Astroturf ground defeating Surjit Hockey Academy Jalandhar by 6-4 in final match. The academy is running under Baba Sewa Singh Kaar Sewa Wale, noted environmentalist, educationist and sports promoter.

The Moga conference of Akali Dal (Badal) in mid-1990s should viewed in this context where the Badals resolved to open the party to Punjabi Hindus. It meant the Dal ceased to be a party exclusively of the Sikh minority since its inception in 1920s. Since then, The Akali Dal became a ‘Punjabi party’ and vouched ‘unconditional support’ to the BJP parented by RSS, having an agenda of creating a “Hindu Rashtra”. For RSS, the Sikhs do not deserve to harp on ‘a separate IDENTITY as they constitute a sect of Hindus’.

Amritsar/ Punjab (September 09, 2014): It's third announcement by a film production team to make movie on Bhai Sukhdev Singh Sukha and Bhai Harjinder Singh Jinda. According to information available with the Sikh Siyasat News (SSN), Punjabi film director Sukhjinder Singh Shera recently (on Aug. 30) held a press conference at Amritsar to make formal announcement regarding his upcoming movie which is said to be based on Letters of Bhai Sukha and Jinda, known as “Jail Chhithian” (Letters from prison).

New Delhi, India (September 07, 2014): Indian Journalist Ved Pratap Vaidik who had was bitterly criticized by Indian media and politicians for holding meeting with Hafiz Saeed, founder of Jamait-ud-Dawa, today called the Members of Indian Parliament as ‘insane’. He was referring to those Indian MPs who had criticized his meeting with Hafiz Saeed in Pakistan. Ved Partap Vaidik further said that he feels like “spitting on the faces of these insane MPs”.

New Delhi, India (September 07, 2014): Sikhs in large numbers, led by Shiromani Akali Dal (Delhi) leadership, on Saturday (Sept. 06) held a protest outside Hindutva fountain-head Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) office in Delhi. Sikhs, primarily from Delhi, expressed their outrage over RSS head Mohan Bhagwat's statements terms Sikhs as part of Hindu religion.
