AISSF delegation to meet Indian prime minister on Feb. 27

New Delhi (February 27, 2014): All India Sikh Students Federation (AISSF) has announced their delegation will meet Prime Minister Dr.Manmohan Singh in Delhi on February 27 and handover memorandum, to highlight the recent practice of Politics that has overshadowed the “Issue of Justice” for the victims of November 1984 Sikh Genocide.

Punjab: CM Badal orders magisterial inquiry into 21 Feb. lathicharge on farmers at Amritsar

Amritsar, Punjab (February 26, 2014): It is learnt that the Punjab Chief minister Prakash Singh Badal has ordered a magisterial probe into the police lathicharge on agitating farmers February 21 during a protest staged by them outside the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) office, which claimed one life. The probe was reportedly ordered CM Badal on February 25.

UK: Labour Candidate calls for inquiry into Amritsar Massacre; Says recent govt. report left serious questions unanswered

London, UK (February 26, 2014): It is learnt that following the recent revelations regarding the 1984 attack on Sri Harmandir Sahib in Amritsar, Tan Dhesi, Labour Parliamentary Candidate for Gravesham wrote to party leader, Ed Miliband expressing his concern, and asked for Mr Miliband’s support for an independent inquiry into the extent of the then Thatcher government’s involvement in the attack.

Indian army jawan booked in Gurdaspur case; Faces charges of having links with so-called Khalistan Liberation Force

Hisar/ Gurdaspur (February 26, 2014): As per certain media reports an Indian army jawan Sepoy Harmeet Singh, 29, posted at Hisar cantonment was sent to judicial custody on February 25 following his arrest last week for allegedly transporting illegal weapons to Khalistan Liberation Force (KLF) militants. He was posted in the 73 Armoured unit.
