Amritsar, Punjab (December 27, 2013): It is learnt that Jagmeet Singh MPP has been denied visa by India for his visit to Amritsar to attend a function by two NGOs which selected him for "Sikh of the Year" Award.

Amritsar, Punjab (December 27, 2013): It is learnt that upon hearing the news of release of Bhai Lakhwinder Singh and Bhai Shamsher Singh on parole from Burrail Jail, Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa, who was staying at Mata Ganga Ji Niwas reached Akal Takht and performed an ardaas of thanks giving together with the gathered Sangat.

Amritsar, Punjab (December 27, 2013): The persistent efforts of Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa culminated today in the parole of Bhai Lakhwinder Singh and Shamsher Singh. They were released from Chandigarh Model Jail, Burail in the late evening on parole of 28 days.

Chandigarh (December 27, 2013): According to information available with the Sikh Siyasat News (SSN), the release of two more Sikh political prisoners – Bhai Lakhwinder Singh and Bhai Shamsher Singh, is expected this evening (Dec. 27).

Chandigarh/ Punjab (December 27, 2013): The electronic media in Indian turned blind eye over the hunger strike struggle of a Sikh farmer from Haryana for more than five weeks as the issue was related to the Sikh political prisoners.

Ludhaina, Punjab (December 25, 2013): Sukhdeep Singh of Sikh Youth Federation has written an open letter to Pawan Sharma, reporter of Hindustan Times (HT) who reported a highly biased report against the ongoing Sikh agitation seeking release of Sikh political prisoners from Indian jails.

Amritsar, Punjab (December 10, 2013): Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa reportedly declared today that he shall not end his hunger strike until all the 6 Sikh prisoners are released from jail. He has been on hunger strike for last 42 days was demanding release of 6 Sikh political prisoners who were not being granted parole or permanent release despite serving the minimum mandatory terms of their sentences.
