Hondh-Chillar Sikh survivor, who lost seven from the family, cross-examined by Garg Commission; Next hearing on 27 Sept.

Hondh-Chillar/Rewari, Haryana (August 22, 2013): As per information available with the Sikh Siyasat News (SSN), the Garg Commission, headed by Justice T.P. Garg, held a hearing related to the Hondh-Chillar Massacre 1984 on August 21, 2013.

204 Years old rare Amritsar Treaty purchased by anonymous bidder for £3,400

London, UK (August 22, 2013): As per media reports some rare documents of history related to the Sikhs were recently auctioned in the UK. As per information a 204 years old copy of the 'Treaty of Amritsar' was sold on August 21, 2013 for over four times its estimate at an auction of rare historical documents.

Sikh genocide and sovereignty conference resolved to file criminal complaint before UN regarding Sikh Genocide 1984

BC, Canada (August 22, 2013): As per information available with the Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) the Sikh Genocide and Sovereignty Conference held in Canada, by the Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), resolved to support the filing of a criminal complaint before the United Nations regarding the massacre of Sikhs during Sikh Genocide of November 1984 against the Indian National Congress. The conference was held on August 17, 2013.

World Sikh Council-AR condemns 15 August firing at Sikhs by Dehi police

Ohio, US (August 22, 2013): The World Sikh Council – America Region (WSC-AR) has expressed deep concern at the August 15, 2013 firing by Indian police on Sikhs in New Delhi, India. Reports indicate that more than two dozen Sikhs were injured in the attack by the police.

India: Execution of Karnatka duo stayed by SCI; Prof. Bhullar’s case is pending with MHA

New Delhi, India (August 22, 2013): As per recent reports the execution of death sentence of Shivu and Jadeswamey of Karnatka has been stayed by the Supreme Court of India on August 21, 2013. They were scheduled to be executed on August 22.
