Bhag Milkha Bhag banned in Pakistan over dialogue on 1947 partition

Mumbai, India (July 11, 2013): It is learnt that Pakistan has banned upcoming movie ‘Bhag Milkha Bhag’; a film reportedly based on the life of an Indian athlete named Milkha Singh, who is known as ‘flying Sikh’. According to a news reported by a Punjabi vernacular Farhan Akhtar has played the lead role as Milkha Singh in this movie.

AISSF announces to file murder case against KPS Gill in wake of Fake Encounters disclosure by SI Surjit Singh

Amritsar (July 11, 2013): All India Sikh Students Federation (AISSF) has declared to initiate criminal proceedings against former Punjab DGP KPS Gill and Sub Inspector (SI) Surjit Singh for killing innocent Sikhs in “fake encounters” during 1990s.

Chandigarh/ Punjab (July 11, 2013): According to information available with the Sikh Siyasat News (SSN), Punjab and Haryana High Court today bail to Akali Dal Panch Pardhani (ADPP) leader Bhai Daljit Singh Bittu in a case under Unlawful Activities Prevention Act. This case was registered against Bhai Daljit Singh Bittu in September 2012 by Ludhiana police.

Bhakra Board issues floods warning in Punjab; Govt. to increase vigil along rivers, canals

Chandigarh, Punjab (July 11, 2013): It is learnt that the Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) has issued a floods alert in Punjab. According to BBMB in wake of heavy snowmelt and rains in hills there is possibility of floods along Sutlej and Beas rivers.
