Shiv Sena attempted to hold protest march towards Darbar Sahib

Amritsar, Punjab (June 02, 2013): It is learnt that Hindu organization Shiv Sena (Rashtarvadi) took out a march on May 31, 2013 in Amritsar to show their protest against the June 1984 memorial for Sikh martyrs. In June 1984 Indian army had attacked Sri Darbar Sahib and other Sikh Gurdwaras in Punjab and adjoining states.

In June 1984, when the Indian army attacked Sri Darbar Sahib (Amritsar) and other Sikh Gurdwara Sahibs, the attack was code-named as "Operation Blue Star". A Pakistani poet Afzal Ahsan Randhawa wrote a poem in June 1984 and described the attack attack as "Navan Ghalughara" (new holocaust).

Dal Khalsa to undertake a Genocide Remembrance Parade on 5th June

Amritsar, Punjab (June 02, 2013): Dal Khalsa has resolved to undertake a Genocide Remembrance Parade on 5th June to mark the 29th anniversary of army attack on Sikh Faith code-named Blue Star. The decision was taken at a meeting of office bearers held at party head-office on June 01, 2013.

Nishan-e-Sikhi’s Students to propagate Sikhism in other states

Khadur Sahib, Punjab (June 02, 2013): According to a press release sent by Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Nishan-e-Sikhi: "[t]aking a new initiative, Sri Guru Angad Dev institute of religious studies run under Padma Sri Baba Sewa Singh Kaar Sewa Wale managed Nishan-E-Sikhi charitable trust (Regd.) Khadur Sahib, is going to send its MA students, under a special project, to Madhya Pradesh to propagate Sikhism as well as collect the information regarding livings and development of the Sikh community residing there".
