Sadda Haq team moved to Supreme Court; SC asked why film banned by some state only; Next hearing on April 16

New Delhi, India (April 11, 2013): It is learnt that on April 11, 2013 the actor-producer Kuljinder Sidhu moved to the Supreme Court of India against the ban imposed on his film ‘Sadda Haq’ by state governments of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi.

Kirpan to be accommodated at British Columbia Courthouses

Vancouver (April 11, 2013): According to a recent news release dated April 11, 2013 by the World Sikh Organization of Canada, the organization has worked with the British Columbia Ministry of Justice as well as the BC Sheriff Service to develop accommodation guidelines for the kirpan in BC courthouses. The accommodation will begin to be offered on April 12, 2013.

High Court upholds Human Rights abuser Sumedh Saini’s appointment as Police chief

Chandigarh/ Punjab (April 11, 2013): It is learnt that pronouncing it's decision on a petition challenging the appointment of Punjab DGP Sumedh Saini the Punjab and Haryana high court on April 11, 2013 upheld the appointment, while dismissing the petition.

Chandigarh, Punjab (April 11, 2013): It is expected that the Punjab and Haryana high court would pronounce its judgment on the tenability of Sumedh Singh Saini's appointment as Punjab's director general of police (DGP) in the face of an ongoing criminal trial against him on April 11, 2013.
