SAHIBZADA AJIT SINGH NAGAR — Independent publishing organization Khalis House has announced the upcoming release of a new Sikh children’s book titled Hazoor Kaur and the Lost Toy. According to a written release, a copy of which is available with the Sikh Siyasat News (SSN), the new title is officially slated for publication on April 10, 2026, and is currently available for pre-order.

Written by debut author Manroop Kaur, the publication is described as a “heartwarming bedtime story” that explores themes of worry, loss, and comfort. The narrative follows young Hazoor Kaur after her beloved stuffed monkey goes missing. Guided by the wisdom of her Nani ji (maternal grandmother), the young protagonist learns “how faith in Vaheguru can bring peace in moments of fear and uncertainty.”
The publisher emphasized the importance of representation and emotional wellbeing for Sikh youth in modern children’s literature. The statement notes that the story offers a “comforting and relatable experience for Sikh children, blending everyday moments with meaningful lessons about faith, resilience, and emotional wellbeing.”
Highlighting the aesthetic and cultural value of the release, Khalis House stated that the book has been “thoughtfully crafted to reflect Sikh identity in a warm and accessible way,” making it an ideal addition to a child’s bedtime routine “where representation, reassurance, and spirituality come together.”
Hazoor Kaur and the Lost Toy marks another milestone for Khalis House, joining a growing catalog of over 50 published titles. The independent publisher has successfully distributed thousands of books across the UK, Canada, the United States, and Australia.
In alongside the book announcement, the organization shared an update on their operational growth, crediting their readers for supporting independent Sikh and Panjabi publishing. “Now, we’re ready for the next step in our publishing journey,” the statement revealed, announcing their plans for “bringing hardback printing in-house.”
