CHANDIGARH: Today, the Punjab and Haryana High Court granted bail to three Sikh prisoners and suspended their life sentences. The three men—Harcharan Singh Delhi, Ravinderpal Singh Mehna, and Jagdev Singh Talania—have been in jail since May 2019.
The order was passed by a double bench of the High Court, which included Justice Harsimran Singh Sethi and Justice Deepak Manchanda.
Advocate Jaspal Singh Manjhpur of Panjaab Lawyers shared the details of the court’s decision.
“The double bench of Justice Harsimran Singh Sethi and Justice Deepak Manchanda has suspended the life imprisonment sentence given by the NIA Special Court Punjab judge Manjot Kaur in 2024, and has granted them bail,” said Advo Jaspal Singh Manjhpur while talking to the Sikh Siyasat News.
He also gave an update on when they will come out of jail. “The three Sikhs will be released in the coming days after the bail bonds are filled,” said Advo Jaspal Singh Manjhpur while talking to the Sikh Siyasat News.
Different lawyers appeared in the High Court for the three men. Advocate Navkiran Singh represented Harcharan Singh Delhi, Senior Advocate Puran Singh Hundal represented Ravinderpal Singh Mehna, and Advocate Balbir Singh Sevak represented Jagdev Singh Talania.
The Sikh Legal Assistance Board managed and followed up on the case for the prisoners.
