On 21 November 2025, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College (Girls), Akkar, Patiala organized a Gurmat Smagam dedicated to the 350th anniversary of the Gurtagadi Diwas of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji and the 350th Shaheedi Gurpurb of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji, Bhai Dayala Ji, Bhai Sati Das Ji, and Bhai Mati Das Ji. Various speakers shared their views during the program.

During this event, Dr. Kulwinder Singh from Dehradun also shared his thoughts with the students and the college staff. While speaking about Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji, he shared how, even after being bestowed with Guruship, the Guru Sahib did not reveal himself openly, whereas on the other hand, the masands appointed by the government had proclaimed themselves to be Gurus.

In the same way, even today, those who gain titles such as “CM” or “ministerial positions” through the government can only speak for the government, not for the common people and society. Therefore, we must reflect on whether we wish to uphold independence and free thinking like the Guru Sahib, or continue living in subservience to the present Hindutva regime.
