Moga/Ludhaina, Punjab (June 04, 2014): As per information available with the Sikh Siyasat News (SSN), Sikh activist and lawyer- Advocate Jaspal Singh Manjhpur, Akali Dal Panch Pardhani (ADPP) leader Daljit Singh Bittu’s father Dr. Ajit Singh Sidhu, Palwinder Singh Talwara, and Palwinder Singh Shutrana were acquitted by a local court of Payal subdivision of Ludhiana district on Wednesday (June 04) in a case 2006 case registered under the Arms Act.

According to police claims a .12 bore double barrel riffle, .32 bore revolver, and .315 bore gun including some sharp-edged weapons, posters of Sikh martyr Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale from the above the possession Advocate JS Manjhpur, Palwinder Singh Shutrana and Malkit Singh Bhotna when they were intercepted at a toll plaza near Doraha on August 15, 2006.

A case was registered against Sikh advocate Jaspal Singh Manjhpur, Dr Ajit Singh Sidhu – a retired Professor of Punjab Agriculture University, Palwinder Singh Talwara, Palwinder Singh Shutrana and Malkit Singh Bhotna under sections 25, 54 and 59 of arms act. Dr. Ajit Singh is father of Akali Dal Panch Pardhani (ADPP) leader Bhai Daljit Singh Bittu.

During the court proceedings, no cop came for witness while a head constable Mashinder Singh recorded his statement on June 04, 2014 at the last moment of disposing of the case.

Meanwhile, the challan of Malkit Singh Bhotna was separated, who faced another case under arms act in Jammu.

While the case against Malkit Singh is still pending, all others were acquitted by the court of Judge Rachhpal Singh on June 04, 2014.

Counsel for the accused Sikh advocate Jaspal Singh Manjhpur, who was himself facing the charges in this case, claimed that the recovery at the toll plaza at Doraha was merely a drama while all persons framed in this case were arrested from Gurdev Nagar in Ludhiana at the residence of Daljit Singh Bittu when police raided to arrest Sikh leader Bhai Daljit Singh. Having no witness of evidence in the case, the police failed to prove the recovery.
