Punjab police verifying legality of DIG’s orders reinstating Gurmeet Pinky, media reports

The Punjab police is reportedly verifying the legality of DIG Gurinder Dhillon's controversial orders reinstating murder convict former inspector Gurmeet Pinky into the police force. Gurmeet Pinky was convicted to imprisonment in 2006 for life in Avtar Singh Gola's murder (2001) case. He was released prematurely by Punjab government in May 2014.

Police cat turned cop Gurmeet Pinky who was dismissed after conviction in a murder case in 2006 and was recently reinstated and fired again by the government, has reportedly moved to Punjab and Harayna High Court against his dismissal from service.

Jathedars prohibit use of Mobile phones during Paath/Kirtan by Granthis/Ragis

In an importance directive issued from Akal Takht, five Sikh Jathedars on Wednesday issued a directing prohibition on use of mobile phone during the Akhand Paath or recital of Kirtan by the Granthis (priests).
