New Delhi/ Jalandhar (February 11, 2014): It is learnt that hundreds of SIkh men, women and children Carrying torches (mashal’s) in their hands took out ‘Walk for Justice’ from Gurdwara Bangla Sahib up to the residence of Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh at Race Course Road in Delhi on Monday (FEb. 10) evening symbolizing enlightening and awakening of Congress party to stop atrocities on Sikhs and give them the Justice.

Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) president and Badal Dal leader Manjit Singh GK alleged in a statement : “Congress party’s dealing with the Sikhs has been atrocious and full of cruelty, as Operation Bluestar in 1984 in Golden Temple was planned by the Congress government with the help of UK government”.

“Later in the same year in 1984 thousands of innocent Sikhs were massacred in all over the country and their properties were burnt in the violence, which was perpetrated by the congress party leaders and party’s vice president Rahul Gandhi had accepted the involvement of few Congressmen in the anti-Sikh violence” Manit Singh GK added.

“Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh should clear the stand of his party as to how much and what kind of help was sought by congress party’s then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, while planning Operation Blue star (army attack on Darbar Sahib) damaging holiest of holy shrine of Sikhs- [Darbar Sahib] and killing innocent” Majit Singh GK reportedly added.

It may be recalled that the issue of June 1984 attack on Darbar Sahib and November 1984 genocidal attacks on Sikhs in India are sensitive issues concerning the Sikhs in India. Badal Dal leaders are often accused by various Sikh circles for adopting opportunistic approach on these issues to serve their political motives, which tend to undermine the prime aspects related to these issues – such as collective and blatant failure of Indian state, and successive governments, to punish the culprits.
