Chandigarh: Sikh Siyasat’s official YouTube channel was hacked on January 7, 2024. In a statement issued on January 8, Parmjeet Singh Gazi, the Chief Editor of Sikh Siyasat, confirmed that the channel had been compromised in the early hours of January 7. YouTube detected suspicious activity and subsequently removed the channel from the platform.
“Upon learning of the channels removal, we immediately launched an investigation and determined that it had indeed been hacked. We then raised our concerns with YouTube,” stated Parmjeet Singh Gazi.
He further explained that the channel was restored by YouTube in the early hours of January 9, 2025. However, the exact source of the hacking remains unidentified, and Gazi mentioned that an internal cybersecurity audit is underway to identify any vulnerabilities and address potential security lapses.
The Sikh Siyasat YouTube channel is now live again, and the content is being gradually restored.
