A three-day seminar was organized at Mastuana Sahib by the Akal College Council and various Sikh organizations to discuss the ideology, structure, and revival of the Shiromani Akali Dal.
During the event, Dr. Kanwaljit Singh shared his thoughts with the gathered audience and speakers. He deeply explored and beautifully explained the meanings of the three words: “Shiromani,” “Akali,” and “Dal.”
He emphasized that these words are not just part of a name — they hold a sacred and elevated significance in themselves.
However, he pointed out that the modern-day Shiromani Akali Dal has strayed from its true purpose and is now misusing this identity for the sake of political power and self-interest.
If we are to truly talk about reviving the principles and structure of the Akali Dal, we must first understand that these words were never meant to be subservient to any worldly throne or authority — in fact, the worldly powers should align themselves with the values these words represent.
To truly revive the spirit of the Shiromani Akali Dal, we must ensure its leadership is handed over to individuals of high moral character, free from greed, hunger for positions, or personal gain — individuals who truly understand and embody the values behind these sacred words. Listen and share with others.
