Seminar Announced in Surrey to Address State Tactics and the Dilution of Sikh Sovereignty

SURREY, BC: A coalition of Sikh organizations, including leadership from Dal Khalsa and the Sikh Federation (Canada), alongside local Panthic groups, has issued a written statement announcing an upcoming seminar focused on the preservation of Sikh identity and historical challenges to Khalsa traditions. A copy of the written release and event flyer, which is available with the Sikh Siyasat News (SSN), outlines the core themes of the event, aptly titled, “The Invisible War: State Tactics and the Dilution of Sikh Sovereignty.”

The Invisible War

The seminar is scheduled to take place on April 15, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Khalistan Center (located above Dasmesh Academy) in Surrey, British Columbia.

According to the release, the seminar aims to shed light on historical and contemporary efforts to undermine the Panth. Reflecting on a pivotal moment in modern Sikh history, the statement asserts, “The bullets fired in Amritsar in April 1978 didn’t just target 13 Singhs; they targeted the sovereign identity of the Khalsa.”

The organizers emphasize that the upcoming event will expose the “long-standing machinery used to create internal confusion” within Sikh ranks. The written statement critically addresses the promotion of splinter groups and cults, noting that by “injecting state influence into our highest seats of power and fostering splinter groups (Nirankaris, Radhaswamis, and modern-day cults), the objective remains the same: to break the Sikh bond with the Shabad Guru.”

The seminar agenda is designed to educate attendees on several critical issues. Key topics of discussion will include an analysis of the 1978 Shaheedi as the primary catalyst for the Sikh struggle of the 1980s. Furthermore, the speakers will address the tactical use of “Deras” and how they have been utilized to “erode the Khalsa’s political consciousness.” The event will also provide guidance on how the Sikh community can successfully identify and resist these ongoing policies in the present day.

The seminar will feature prominent Panthic voices, with keynote addresses to be delivered by:

  • Bhai Parmjit Singh Mand, President of Dal Khalsa

  • Bhai Moninder Singh, Chair of the Sikh Federation (Canada)

The event is being supported and coordinated by a collective of Sikh institutions and organizations, including Dasmesh Darbar Gurdwara Sahib (Surrey), the Panthic Alliance of British Columbia, the Khalistan Centre, The Undying Morcha, and Akal Force.
